A native of Tucson, Arizona, Ms. Elana Weber
received her BFA degree in music performance in 1996 from the
University
of Arizona where she studied under Mr. Jerry Kirkbride.
Ms. Weber received her MFA at Cal Arts in 1998, studying under
Mr. William Powell.
Now residing in Pasadena, California,
Elana performs with the string and percussion chamber group, The
Robin Cox Ensemble, the contemporary chamber group ensemble
GREEN and the new orchestra International Philharmonia of the
Californias. Ms. Weber is currently on faculty at Pasadena
City College and previously served as clarinet instructor
for the California
State Summer School of the Arts. Ms. Weber is also the Woodwind
Technician with The
Music Group for Buffet Crampon Clarinets.
Elana premiered many compositions written expressly for her, played
principal on the premiere recording of David
Maslanka's Mass CD, and was featured as a soloist
for both a Cal Arts produced CD and an independent film which
premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Winning numerous solo competitions, Ms. Weber was chosen to be
the guest soloist with the Arizona
Symphonic Winds in June of 2000.
